Hurt was in the memorable movies: Altered States, Body Heat, The Big Chill, Gorky Park, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Children of a Lesser God, Broadcast News, The Accidental Tourist, The Doctor, Michael, Lost in Space, A.I.: Artificial Intelligence, The Village, Syriana, Mr. Brooks and The King’s Daughter. Hurt was in the Dune miniseries as well as playing General Thunderbolt Ross in the Marvel movies.
