Bessemer, AL- Former Olympic runner, Emmit King, 62, died in a shootout with Willie Albert Wells outside a house where both of them were killed after an argument. King was a sprinter and member of the United States Relay Team in both ’84 and ’88, but did not compete. In 1983, King became the NCAA National Champion in the 100 meters.
