Los Angeles, CA- Sally Ann Howes, the female lead in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang opposite Dick Van Dyke, has died at the age of 91. Howes started her acting career when she was 12 years old in 1943’s Thursday’s Child in England. Howes acted in 140 films, musicals, plays and television series. She was nominated for a Tony Award in 1962 for Brigadoon. Her last on-screen appearance was in 1992’s limited series, Secrets.
