Los Angeles, CA: Legendary Actor Sidney Poitier has died at the age of 94. Poitier was born in Miami, Florida in 1927. Poitier was the first black male actor to win the best actor Oscar in 1963’s Lilies of the Field.
Some of Poitier’s many works includes: 1950’s No Way Out, Porgy and Bess, To Sir with Love, In the Heat of the Night, Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner, The Jackal, Sneakers, Shoot to Kill, Buck and the Preacher, All the Young Men and The Defiant Ones.
