4:15 AM: Irainians took to the streets of Tehran to protest the Russian inasion of Ukraine. They wanted to show the Ukrainian people that they stood in solidarity with them by chanting “death to Putin” outside the Ukrainian embassy in defiance to the Iranian government who are allies with Russia.
6:40 AM: Germany is going to raise defense spending above 2% of their GDP in response to a potential Russian threat to the EU.
7:52 AM: Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has urged the United Nations top court in the Hague to halt the Russian invasion of Ukraine. He said that Moscow is “manipulating the notion of genocide” to justify their invasion.
9 AM: There has been at least 68 civilians killed in the Ukraine.
9:10 AM: Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered Russia’s nuclear deterrent forces to be placed on high alert readiness to launch at ready. Putin claimed in response to “aggressive statements” from the NATO members.
9:22 AM: Ukraine has agreed to talk with Russia, “without preconditions”, near the border of Belarus on the Pripyat River.
11:40 AM: Canada announced it has banned Russian airlines from flying over their airspace.
12:38 PM: The European Union has banned Russian planes from using its airspace and will help fund arms for Ukraine and have extended sanctions against Belarus because they allowed Russia to use their country to invade Ukraine also.
4:40 PM: ABC News is reporting: The United Nations Security Council voted to convene a special session of the U.N. General Assembly to debate Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Eleven nations voted in favor of the session, while Russia voted against it. India, China and the United Arab Emirates abstained.
