Washington, D.C.: 1:24 pm: House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy lost for the 4th time in his bid to become Speaker of the House. Hardline Republicans have blocked McCarthy again because they are trying to elect their Freedom caucus nominee instead,

2:52 pm: The House of Representatives remaine paralized by the Republican circus as Kevin McCarthy failed for the 5th time to get elected Speaker of the House.

4:55 pm: McCarthy has failed for the 6th time and the third time today to get enough votes to become the Speaker of the House. The House of Representatives have adjourned until 8pm.

8:40 pm: The House of Representatives adjourned for the evening until noon tomorrow without another vote for Speaker of the House. House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy said that another vote today woulod not be “productive.”
