Lahaina, HA.: Maui County officials released a statement saying, “As the firefighting efforts continue, 36 total fatalities have been discovered today amid the active Lahaina fire. No other details are available at this time.”
(Updated at 8pm) Hawaii’s governor said that the death toll has risen to 53 with over 1,000 structures burned.
