During the 1st game of a doubleheader with the Cincinnati Reds, Los Angeles Angels pitcher/DH Shohei Ohtani had to leave the game in the 2nd inning of the game. Ohtani was diagnosed with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. In 2018, he suffered the same injury, and he was forced to undergo Tommy John surgery. Because of the injury & the surgery, Ohtani didn’t pitch at all in 2019. Ohtani & the Angels are waiting on a second opinion before he decides on the surgery.
