Washington, D.C.: For the first time in history, the U.S. House of Representatives voted (216-210) to oust Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy. A small group of right-wing Repblicans, which were led by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), joined with Democrats to oust him as Speaker.
7:20pm: In a closed-door meeting, Kevin McCarthy told Republicans that he won’t run for speaker again, according to the ones who attended it.
