The Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics was awarded to Claudia Goldin, who is the 3rd woman to win the prize in economics. Goldin was awarded it for her research on gender gaps in the labor market. Back in 1989, Goldin was the 1st woman to receive tenure in Harvard’s economics department.
