10/14/2021-The wreck of a military ship cutter, “Bear”, was finally identified off the waters of Eastern Seaboard of the U.S. The ship fought in both World Wars and also patrolled the waters off Alaska for decades. “Bear” became the first ship captained by a black man on an American government vessel. When it sank in 1963, the ship was being transported to Philadelphia to become a restaurant in the water.
