San Marcos, CA.: Oscar & Tony Award winning actor Alan Arkin has died at the age of 89. His son Matthew has told the New York Times that his father suffered through “heart ailments.” Arkin won took the 1963 Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his role in Enter Laughing. He was nominated for 4 Academy Awards: twice for best actor in 1966’s The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming and 1968’s The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter and two Supporting Actor nominations for 2006’s Little Miss Sunshine (for which he won) and 2012’s Argo.
