
Russian Invasion of Ukraine <<<UPDATED THROUGHOUT THE DAY>>>
1:08 AM: Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia tested it’s new intercontinental ballistic missile in a test to send a message to the West to “think twice.”
6:17 AM: President Putin ordered his military to not storm last stronghold of Ukrainian forces at the steel plant in Mariupol. He planned to block it off from the rest of the world. Putin claimed victory and that he “liberated” the city.
6:42 AM: In the steel plant in Mariupol, around 1,000 civilians, including women and children, are still trapped there along with the Ukrainian soldiers.
10:35 AM: President Joe Biden announced that the United States is sending another $800 million of military aide to Ukraine. President Biden also announced that the invasion has entered “the next phase”. He also announced that the U.S. Congress would have to approve any more assistance.
5:05 PM: Mariupol Mayor Vadym Boychenko said that there are as many as 9,000 civilians may be buried in a mass grave outside the city.
